Cost effective surveillance of large areas remains a major challenge in the video surveillance world. Wide angle mega-pixel cameras, with advanced video content analytics, have advanced considerably. However, they still fall very short when it comes to the provision of evidential quality, high resolution images when zoomed in.
Overview has recently released the Hydra™ family of ultra-high performance PTZ cameras, which from inception have been designed to support integration with wide area sensors. Overview is in the process of integrating with a range of technologies including video, RADAR, LIDAR, Thermal Imaging and others.
In November 2016, Overview successfully completed interoperability testing of the Hydra Ruggedised PTZ with Ogier Electronics’ exciting Scan-360 radar detection system.
Scan-360 is a cost effective, ground surveillance security radar with the ability to detect humans and vehicles up to a range of 200 metres. When integrated with Hydra the Scan-360 automatically steers the Hydra PTZ to obtain high resolution HD-IP images of the detected target for validation and evidential purposes and then follows that target.
Overview’s Hydra is the first HD-IP external PTZ to complete interoperability testing and be approved by Ogier. Hydra’s high precision, reliability and ultra-smooth rapid motion make it ideal for these integrated applications. Ogier is to promote Hydra as part of its integrated surveillance solutions through their distribution and installer channels.
The combination of Overview’s Hydra and Ogier Electronics’ Scan-360 provides a proven all-weather, multi-terrain threat detection solution suitable for a wide range of surveillance applications.
