This small, precision, brushless dc motor has been designed and tooled for production by Overview to power a new generation of compact domes and video conferencing products, with direct drive to each axis.
It has integral intelligence so that the closed loop servo with velocity and positional control, referencing and positional feedback information circuitry are all packaged with the motor.
The motor and control therefore only need a four wire connection for power and serial control. This allows a video encoder board with a serial interface to control a PTZ camera with minimal additional electronics. It can also fit into a 100mm bubble, with a small camera, making it a compact PTZ drive.
